Pets Furst Urgent Care in Langhorne, PA is seeking a Fully Licensed Veterinary Technician to join the urgent care team. You will support veterinarians and the medical staff in delivering high-quality care to pets and their families, including nursing care, anesthesia, and client education.

The role involves assisting with examinations, diagnostics, surgeries, and treatments, while maintaining safety, accuracy, and compassionate service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Licensed/Certified/Registered Veterinary Technician credential required.
• Demonstrated proficiency in anesthesia monitoring, venipuncture, laboratory procedures, radiology, and dentistry.
• Basic computer literacy, including navigating practice management software and Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication and organizational skills with ability to work collaboratively in a team.
• Maintains professionalism, composure, and sound judgment in high-stress situations.
• Capable of multitasking in a fast-paced setting while maintaining accuracy.
• Compassionate and committed to delivering exceptional patient care and client service.
• Able to work safely around chemicals, anesthetic gases, radiation, zoonotic diseases, and fluids.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and handle animals up to 150 pounds.
• Comfortable with prolonged periods of standing and movement.
• Professional, neat appearance consistent with hospital standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to hospitalized patients: IV catheters, CRI management, meds, feeding tubes, and monitoring.
• Prepare, monitor, and recover patients during surgical procedures with emphasis on safety and comfort.
• Assist veterinarians during examinations, diagnostics, treatments, and surgeries with proper restraint and monitoring.
• Perform laboratory diagnostics (urinalysis, hematology, fecals, cytology) and document results.
• Operate and maintain diagnostic equipment including radiology and ultrasound in compliance with safety standards.
• Prepare and administer medications, vaccines, and treatments per protocol and regulations.
• Maintain daily controlled drug logs and proper handling/storage of controlled substances.
• Create, review, and enter treatment plans in medical records accurately.
• Support hospital operations through meticulous recordkeeping and chart auditing.
• Provide clear client education on preventative care, treatments, medications, and nutrition.
• Maintain clean, stocked treatment and surgical areas with sterile procedures.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies.
• Foster a positive, professional workplace through teamwork and cross-department collaboration.
• Perform additional duties as assigned and ensure compliance with state acts and hospital policies.
