Job summary

UCHealth Harmony Campus in Fort Collins, CO is seeking staff for an emergent/urgent care role. This onsite position offers full-time hours (68 per 2-week pay period) with daytime shifts and a pay rate of $21.49-$27.94 per hour, dependent on experience.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • IV proficiency within 6 months per department guidelines.
  • One of the following credentials: CMA; RMA; State licensure as EMT, EMT-I, or Paramedic; completion of military medic course (no renewal required); Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
  • BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross; card valid through start date and renewals issued by AHA.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates flow of patients in the department to optimize throughput and informs patients of delays.
  • Observes patients and notifies provider or RN if patient appears in distress; prepares patients for examination and assists during and after.
  • Inserts Foley catheters, performs complex splinting, and venipuncture for blood draws or saline lock.
  • Maintains exam and treatment rooms; cleans equipment; ensures standard supply levels and orders supplies as directed.
  • Must work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision and exercise decisive judgment.

This position is an onsite role and does not offer a hybrid or remote option.

Summary

Provides emergent/urgent patient care under the direction of a physician, physician assistant, nurse practitioner and/or registered nurse.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinates flow of patients in the department to optimize throughput; keeps patients apprised of delays.
  • Observes patients and notifies the provider and/or RN immediately if patient appears in distress. Prepares patients to see the provider; assists prior to, during, and following examination.
  • Inserts Foley catheters, performs complex splinting, and performs venipuncture for the purpose of drawing blood or inserting a saline lock.
  • Maintains exam and treatment rooms and other areas. Cleans equipment following established guidelines. Ensures that established standard supply levels are maintained; orders supplies as directed.
  • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • IV proficiency per department guidelines within 6 months and is tracked at the department level.
  • One of the following credentials: CMA; RMA; State licensure as EMT, EMT-I, or Paramedic; completion of military medic course (no renewal required); Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
  • BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire. All renewals must be issued by the American Heart Association.
