Job summary

UCHealth University of Colorado Health in Aurora, CO, is seeking an on-site urgent care support role to provide emergent care under supervision. The position is full-time with a day schedule, offering hourly pay between $21.49 and $27.94 depending on experience.

Responsibilities include coordinating patient flow, preparing patients for visits, assisting during exams, catheter insertions, venipuncture, and maintaining rooms and supplies.

Qualifications

• Minimum required education: High school diploma or GED.
• BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer; card valid through 60 days after hire.
• IV proficiency required within 6 months and tracked at dept level.

Responsibilities

• Provides emergent/urgent patient care under physician, PA, NP, or RN supervision.
• Coordinate patient flow in the department to optimize throughput and keep patients informed of delays.
• Prepare patients to see the provider; assist before, during, and after examination.
• Inserts Foley catheters, performs venipuncture, and assists with complex splinting.
• Maintain exam and treatment rooms; ensure supplies are stocked and equipment cleaned.

Pay:$21.49 - $27.94 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

This position is an onsite role and does not offer a hybrid or remote option

Summary:

Provides emergent/urgent patient care under the direction of a physician, physician assistant, nurse practitioner and/or registered nurse.

Responsibilities:

Coordinates flow of patients in the department to optimize throughput; keeps patients apprised of delays.

Observes patients and notifies the provider and/or RN immediately if patient appears in distress. Prepares patients to see the provider; assists prior to, during, and following examination.

Inserts Foley catheters, performs complex splinting, and performs venipuncture for the purpose of drawing blood or inserting a saline lock.

Maintains exam and treatment rooms and other areas. Cleans equipment following established guidelines. Ensures that established standard supply levels are maintained; orders supplies as directed.

Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements:

• Minimum Required Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Required Licensure/Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider. IV proficiency per department guidelines within 6 months and is tracked at the department level. One of the following credentials: CMA; RMA; State licensure as EMT, EMT-I, or Paramedic; completion of military medic course (no renewal required); Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
• Minimum Experience: None required.

• BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
