Job summary

South Shore Health is seeking a part-time Urgent Care Assistant for LOC0025 in Abington, MA. You will greet patients, determine the visit type, and prepare them for evaluation.

Expected duties include collecting medical histories, taking vital signs, and assisting with examinations and procedures. You will also document care, administer medications/IVs per physician orders, and keep care areas clean and stocked.

Greet patients and determine nature of the visit; prepare and assist patients for visit.

Compensation Pay Range:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Maintain patient's safe passage in and out of the practice
• Greet, assess and interview patients
• Obtain past medical and surgical history, family history, social history, vital signs
• Review present medications, allergy history, chief complaint
• Prepare and assist patients for examination, treatment, or procedure by provider
• Anticipate needs of patients, and the provider
• Monitoring of patient during examination, or procedure
• Maintain patient care areas
• Stocking and ordering of supplies as needed, and maintaining clean exam rooms
• Charge and code supplies, medications, and procedures
• Respond to patient's concerns in person or by telephone while simultaneously documenting the problem
• Maintains patient confidentiality
• Administers medications and IVs per physician's orders
• Perform a variety of preliminary procedures, including phlebotomy, injections, throat cultures and more

Schedule and Location vary weekly, including rotating weekends and holidays. Required - 2 weekend shifts per month.

Operation hours Monday - Friday 9a-7p (10-hour shift), Saturday - Sunday 9a-4p (7-hour shift)

License/Registration/Certification Requirements:
