Job summary

Greater New Bedford Community Health Center in New Bedford, MA is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for primary and urgent care across diverse patients. This full-time role offers 4 x 10 hour shifts (7:30 am - 6:00 pm) or 5 x 8 hour shifts, with rotating Saturdays.

Candidates should hold MA RN license (or practical nursing), BLS, and 1–3 years in a physician's office or community health setting. Bilingual Spanish/Portuguese is preferred to support our community.

Qualifications

• Current MA RN license or completion of a formal education program in practical nursing.
• Current state licensure/BLS certification (with AED). Responsible for keeping certification current.
• 1–3 years experience performed in a physician's office or community health setting.
• Minimum one year MED/SURG experience desirable.
• Bilingual Spanish and/or Portuguese skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide empathetic patient care and comprehensive nursing assessments.
• Administer immunizations and treatments, perform diagnostic tests as needed (EKG, Holter, hearing/vision tests).
• Document in the electronic health record and manage patient encounter forms.
• Assist in coordinating referrals and education plans with patients and families.

9. A teacher at heart who can contribute to the orientation of new nurses and provide direction for medical assistants.
10. Someone tech savvy who will document in the electronic health record, prepare test results, and document in patient encounter forms.
11. Someone who can prioritize patient phone calls and determine the need for immediate medical care, assist with procedures, and process refills.

Qualifications What you’ll need:
