Job description

Indiana University Health Medical Group is seeking an Urgent Care Physician Leader to oversee Urgent Care and Employer Solutionspractices. The Physician Leader will be primarily based in Indianapolis, with responsibility throughout Indiana. There are currently nine Urgent Care locations includingMuncie (1), Indy Metro (6), and Bloomington (2).Urgent Care's operate seven days a week with 80 hours of operations per clinic.

Employer Solutions is inclusive of onsite and near site Occupational Medicine and/or adjunct Primary and Preventative Care clinics, spanning all regions of the State.

Retail Health is adaptive to the demands of the market, with future expansion likely.

Urgent Care & Employer Solutions Physician Leadership Role:

  • Schedule: Full Time 1.0 FTE
  • Clinical FTE prorated to 0.8 FTE or 11 clinical shifts per month, with 1-2 of those being weekend days
  • Administrative FTE 0.2 FTEor3 shifts per month
  • Location: Indianapolis Metro Region as Primary location with travel required to visit all IU Health Urgent Care & Employer Solutions practices in Indiana as needed
  • Provide clinical oversight and quality standards for our Urgent Care and Employer Solutions Teams throughout the state of Indiana
  • Collaborate with Physicians, Advanced Practice Providers, Practice Leaders, and Advanced Practice Provider Team Leads, Supervisor and Manager

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Functionas the organization’s clinical leader. The Physician Leader provides guidance, leadership, and oversight to the staff and will be responsible for the performance of theclinical staff including staffing models, medical staff recruitment,orientation, clinical effectiveness, and on-going training and educational programs.
  • Assist in the creation and implementation of clinical and administrative policies and procedures.
  • Actively participates in and oversees the quality assurance, compliance, and utilization review programs.
  • Provide high quality, patient-focused health care services to all patients in collaboration with the other staff members to ensure that the individually planned needs and desires of patients are met.
  • Examines patients for symptoms and/or physical information while ensuring the delivery of high quality, patient-focused health care and recognizing the patient’s individual rights.
  • Administers or prescribes treatments and medications appropriate for patient condition.

Qualifications:

  • Strong skills as a clinician, educator and communicator. Ability to manage diverse perspectives in a manner consistent with IUHMG's vision and mission. Must possess a high degree of creativity, strong conceptual skills and a willingness to address Physician behaviors positively.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the mission, vision, and values of IUHMG and IU Health.
  • Ability to construct and convey a vision that supports the strategic direction of IUHMG and IU Health.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills, including the interpersonal skills necessary to establish effective relationships and a collegial working environment for all Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers.
  • Physicians who are US Board Certified in either Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Emergency Medicine AND who have Urgent Care, ER, and/or Acute Care experience in patients 3 months of age and up areencouraged to apply.
