Job summary

Cedars-Sinai Medical Care Foundation in Beverly Hills, CA seeks an Urgent Care Physician to deliver high-quality, rapid evaluation and treatment for acute illnesses and minor injuries in a busy ambulatory setting. You will work with advanced practice providers and nurses to ensure excellent patient outcomes.

Applicants must hold a California medical license, be DEA registered, and be board certified or eligible in Family Medicine or Emergency Medicine; BLS is required and ACLS preferred.

Qualifications

• Current California Physician license.
• DEA registration required.
• Board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or a related specialty.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with acute illnesses, injuries, and urgent medical conditions.
• Obtain comprehensive medical histories and perform age-appropriate physical examinations.
• Order, interpret, and communicate diagnostic tests, including laboratory and imaging studies.
• Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans and prescribe medications as appropriate.
• Perform procedures such as laceration repair, incision and drainage, splinting, wound care, foreign body removal, and other office-based procedures within the physician's scope of practice.
• Recognize patients requiring a higher level of care and facilitate appropriate transfer or referral to the Emergency Department or specialty services.
• Provide patient education regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, preventive care, and follow-up recommendations.
• Document patient encounters accurately and efficiently in the electronic medical record.
• Collaborate closely with advanced practice providers, nurses, medical assistants, and ancillary staff to provide coordinated, patient-centered care.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain clinical competency through continuing education.
