BAS HealthCare is seeking a Physician Assistant for an urgent care role covering multiple CT counties, starting Fall 2026. The position emphasizes weekend coverage with some weekday shifts, and requires travel between locations with occasional two-site days.

Qualified candidates must hold an active Connecticut PA license with clean history, BLS/ACLS/PALS/ATLS credentials, and a DEA license. The role includes performing suturing, wound care, and X-ray/EKG duties, and caring for pediatric patients.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed as a Physician Assistant in Connecticut with a clean history.
• BLS, ACLS, ATLS, and/or PALS certifications are required.
• Active DEA license is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide urgent care services across CT counties including New Haven, Middlesex, New London, Windham, Tolland, Hartford and Litchfield.
• Travel between locations (at least 45 minutes) and split days as needed.
• Perform suturing, wound care, and incision and drainage; proficient in splinting.
• Interpret X-rays and EKGs and draw blood.
• Work independently and care for pediatric patients of all ages.

Job Details:

• Starting Fall 2026 with coverage needed across New Haven, Middlesex, New London, Windham, Tolland, Hartford, and Litchfield counties
• Primary emphasis on weekend coverage, though candidates with weekday availability (particularly Mondays and Fridays) will also be considered
• Providers must be willing and able to travel at least 45 minutes between locations
• Providers may be asked to split their day between two locations
• Must be amenable to last‑minute scheduling changes in response to staff callouts
• Local providers or those who do not require flight accommodations are strongly preferred
• Must be able to perform suturing, wound care, and incision and drainage procedures
• Must be proficient in splinting
• Must be able to perform and interpret X‑rays and EKGs
• Must be comfortable drawing blood
• Must be able to work independently
• Must have experience treating pediatric patients of all ages
• Active Connecticut state license required with clean history
• Active BLS, ACLS, ATLS, and/or PALS certifications required
• Active DEA license required
• Must have no history of medical board actions, suspended or revoked privileges, or malpractice claims requiring disclosure
