Job summary

ACEP Now in Bakersfield, CA is seeking a Staff Urgent Care Physician with opportunities for medical directorship. The role includes 12-hour shifts in a fast-paced urgent care setting and overseeing mid-level providers.

Full-time, part-time, and PRN options are available. In addition to regular wages, a $100,000 sign-on is offered for full-time, plus a $60,000 yearly stipend for medical directorship, and on-site imaging with rapid radiologist reads.

Qualifications

• Medical Degree (M.D. or D.O.)
• Completion of a formal Family Medicine or Emergency Medicine Residency Training Program
• Truly Board Eligible or Board Certified in Family Medicine or Emergency Medicine
• CA Medical License that is active and in good standing
• DEA Certificate

Responsibilities

• Urgent Care Medicine with twelve-hour shifts and 1-hour break.
• Full-time: 12 shifts per month, 2 on-call shifts, and supervising 4 mid-level providers.
• Part-time: minimum 6 shifts per month, supervising up to 4 mid-level providers.
• Treat 4 patients per hour in a low-acuity setting from newborns to geriatrics.
• Bread & Butter procedures: I&Ds, Toenail removal, and Laceration repair.
• In-house point-of-care testing and X-ray; radiologist over-reads within 20 minutes.

Job Overview

We are hiring a Staff Urgent Care Physician with the Advancement of a Medical Directorship in Bakersfield, CA.

Essential Responsibilities

• Urgent Care Medicine, practicing twelve-hour (12) shifts with a 1-hour break.
• Full-time is 12 shifts per month, 2 on-call shifts per month, and managing 4 mid-level providers.
• Part-time will be a minimum of 6 shifts per month and managing up to 4 mid-level providers.
• Treat 4 patients per hour, from newborns to geriatrics (full-spectrum care), in a low-acuity setting.
• Bread & Butter Procedures: I&Ds, Toenail Removal, and Laceration Repair.
• Equipment: In-house Point-of-Care testing and X-ray.
• All X-rays are over-read by a Board-Certified Radiologist, with results available within 20 minutes for routine orders.
• Easy-to-use EMR: VelociDoc with Dragon dictation and document all patients in one minute

Requirements
