Job summary

UNC Health's Urgent Care Brevard is seeking a Per Diem Urgent Care Paramedic to support providers and deliver high-quality patient care. You will assist with admissions, transfers and discharge, maintain patient privacy, and help with routine clinical tasks in a fast-paced clinic.

Responsibilities include patient assessment, emotional support, ECG/monitoring, CPR, and wound care, within the defined scope of practice.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and EMT-Paramedic program completion.
• State certification as paramedic and BLS certification required.
• Preferred: 3–6 months paramedic experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance to patients and their families during admission, transfers, and discharge, anticipates needs and respects confidentiality.
• Demonstrates active listening and provides emotional support to patients and families, ensuring safety and dignity.
• Performs clinical tasks including ECG, monitoring, CPR, oxygen, wound care, and venous access within scope of practice.
• Assists with routine examinations, emergency response, and procurement of equipment and supplies as needed.
• Observes and documents patient information and reports significant changes to a nurse.
