Job summary

Ascension is seeking a Physician Assistant for an outpatient urgent care role in Westlake, Texas. You will deliver direct patient care, conduct histories and physicals, and perform procedures within a physician-collaborative model.

Responsibilities include forming treatment plans, ordering/ interpreting diagnostics, and coordinating follow-up with primary care and specialists. Full clinical autonomy within licensure enables comprehensive, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Licensed Physician Assistant from the Texas Medical Board required prior to hire.
• Certified PA credentialed from NCCPA required prior to hire.
• BLS Provider certification within 30 days of hire.
• Advanced Life Support preferred.
• 2 years of PA experience in Urgent Care or Primary Care.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct care to treat common illnesses and injuries, with exams, histories and interventions.
• Perform procedures and diagnostics as part of patient management.
• Formulate treatment plans and order/interpret diagnostic procedures.
• Counsel patients and families on wellness, treatment paths and community resources.
• Coordinate care with primary care physicians, pediatricians and specialists.
• Operate with full clinical autonomy within the scope of licensure.

Education

Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program

Master's degree preferred
