Job summary

Doctors On Duty in Monterey, CA seeks an energetic Urgent Care physician with strong occupational medicine background. The role is full- or part-time and requires CA licensure, DEA, and BLS. You will manage non-emergency conditions, perform pre-employment/return-to-work exams, and coordinate with case managers and insurers.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Active California Medical License in good standing.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in urgent care or occupational medicine preferred.
• Experience with California Workers’ Compensation regulations and documentation.
• DEA license and current BLS certification required.
• Familiarity with EHR systems (EPIC a plus).

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat a broad spectrum of non-emergency medical conditions.
• Evaluate and treat work-related injuries and illnesses.
• Perform employment-related physicals (pre-employment, DOT, return-to-work, etc.).
• Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure efficient and compliant workflows.
• Communicate with case managers, employers, and insurance adjusters as needed.
• Document all encounters using EHR in a timely and accurate manner.
• Adhere to clinic protocols, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
