Working independently and in collaboration with physicians, the Nurse Practitioner (NP) is responsible for delivering care and integrating patient services to achieve specific clinical, financial, and satisfaction outcomes for designated patient populations and disease processes. The NP coordinates with the patient's healthcare team, adheres to ethical principles as defined by the Nurse Practice Act and ANA code of ethics, and provides healthcare in a therapeutic and professional manner, demonstrating sensitivity to patient and significant other needs. The NP preserves and protects patient autonomy, dignity, rights, values, and beliefs, and advocates for the patient/significant other.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Masters in Nursing required; Doctorate in Nursing preferred; completion of a Certified Nurse Practitioner program.
• Experience: Five years experience as a Registered Nurse; one year experience as a Nurse Practitioner preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: License to practice as Nurse Practitioner in Maryland required; current DEA registration and CDS permit required; current BLS (CPR) required; ACLS and PALS (if applicable) required; ACLS required for Wound Center only.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Demonstrates critical thinking, extensive clinical competence, and expertise; ability to work well with all disciplines at all levels; excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong organizational skills; fluency in coding, ICD-10, and CPT, or commitment to acquire; access to EHR systems.
