Job description

Position Title : Urgent Care Advanced Practice Provider (APP)

Location : Shiprock, AZ

Facility Highlights :

Northern Navajo Medical Center (NNMC) is the administrative and medical hub of the Shiprock Service Unit (SRSU), the largest geographical service unit within the Navajo Area Indian Health Service (NAIHS). NNMC boasts a 69-bed facility, a 5-bed Intensive Care Unit, and an Emergency Department designated as a Level IV trauma center, ensuring top-tier care for all patients, including those requiring trauma and pediatric emergency services.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Patient Care : Provide urgent care services in the SuperTrack unit, seeing an average of 12-19 patients per day.
  • Clinical Services : Perform minor surgeries, suturing, EKGs, lab work, X-rays, ultrasounds, and manage undisplaced fractures.
  • Collaboration : Work alongside a team of physicians, nurses, and support staff to deliver comprehensive healthcare.

Work Schedule :

  • Shift Hours : 10-hour shifts starting at 7am, 8am, Noon, or 2pm (if 4 providers scheduled) or 8am, 10am, and 1pm (if 3 providers scheduled).
  • Support : Each shift is supported by a nurse and a tech, with at least one physician present in the main ED at all times.

Qualifications :

  • Certifications : BLS, Board Certification, COVID-19 and Flu Vaccination 2023.
  • Licenses : Valid DEA License.
  • Experience : Proficiency in providing comprehensive urgent care services and managing diverse patient populations.
