SouthStar Clinics is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our growing urgent care and occupational medicine team in Opelousas, LA. You will provide outpatient care, perform procedures, and coordinate referrals in a patient-first environment.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted PA or NP license in the state.
• Ability to obtain DOT certification within 60 days of hire.
• DEA licensure required.
• Knowledge of treatment and drug interactions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient patient care in urgent care setting.
• Deliver care, treatment, and referrals as needed.
• Arrange referrals for specialties not provided in-house.
• Evaluate patients, perform exams, diagnose and plan treatment.
• Perform clinical procedures within scope and provide patient education.
• Explain diagnosis and treatment goals to patients.
• Maintain accurate documentation and coding in EMR.
• Perform occupational and telemedicine patient care as needed.
• Conduct non-patient-facing duties such as lab and x-ray review.
