Job summary

Ochsner Health in Louisiana is seeking an Urgent Care Physician Assistant to work in outpatient clinics, telehealth, and occupational medicine. You will join an inter-professional team, obtain patient histories, perform assessments, order and interpret tests, and provide direct care and management under supervision of a Medical Director.

Required – Bachelor’s degree in Physician Assistant Medicine or Health Sciences, or graduate of an approved PA program; Master’s in Nursing.

Qualifications

• Licensed in the state as a Physician Assistant
• 3 years’ related experience preferred
• Prescriptive authority eligibility for the state of practice

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the approved medical practices process in the delivery of all patient care.
• Provides care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety and related criteria for patients across ages.
• Orders and interprets radiology tests, Point of Care Testing and lab testing, EKG readings and minor procedures.
• Offers education to patient families, staff, and the community.
• Trains and educates staff, including new APPs and students.
