Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner for its Urgent Care clinics. The NP is a licensed, certified healthcare provider with prescriptive authority under a supervising physician.

You will perform comprehensive exams, order and interpret tests, develop treatment plans, counsel patients, and maintain accurate records. Texas NP license and BLS within 30 days of hire, plus APRN certification, are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• RN license in Texas or APRN with Texas license.
• Current BLS certification.
• APRn board certification for patient population focus.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive or problem-focused physical examinations and histories.
• Orders, interprets, and evaluates lab tests and diagnostics.
• Prescribes or recommends therapies and interventions.
• Develops and implements patient treatment plans with physician supervision.
• Counsels patients and families on medical processes, medications, and health promotion.
• Maintains medical records and coordinates referrals as needed.
• Provides consultation within scope of practice and training.
• May perform procedures within scope of practice.
