Job summary

Community Health Network in Chicago is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to provide a broad range of clinical services for patients of all ages in an urgent care setting. You will assess, diagnose, and treat conditions, and work independently or with a physician while escalating care when needed.

Required skills include pediatric and adult patient care, minor procedures, and proficiency with EKG/X-ray reads. A Master's in Nursing and national NP certification are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of full-time experience as a licensed NP in an Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine setting.
• Experience treating both pediatric and adult patient populations.
• Comfortable performing minor procedures including suturing, casting, and splinting.
• Proficient in preliminary reads of EKGs and X-rays.
• Master's degree in Nursing and national NP certification (AANP/ANCC).

Responsibilities

• Conduct physical exams and review patient histories.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging.
• Diagnose conditions and prescribe treatments or medications.
• Perform minor procedures including suturing, splinting, and casting.
• Document encounters and treatment plans in the EMR.
• Educate and counsel patients on care and prevention.
• Administer vaccinations and refer to specialists as needed.
• Work scheduled shifts of 4, 8, or 12 hours as assigned.
