Job summary

ExperCARE in Alabama seeks a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner with urgent care, emergency medicine, or internal/primary care experience. The role focuses on delivering high-quality care, minor procedures, and patient education in a dynamic team setting.

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong communication, critical thinking, and adaptability while managing time and documentation. Extended hours and alternate weekends are required to support patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Certification as an APRN, NP, or PA (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA)
• Proficiency with EMR systems and strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to interpret instructions and apply learned concepts in real-world scenarios
• Competency in relevant medical calculations
• Ability to perform effectively in high-stress or emergency situations and during irregular hours
• Willingness to work in settings involving exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids
• Exceptional customer service and teamwork skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail
• Effective problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
• Compliance with HIPAA standards

Responsibilities

• Obtain complete medical histories and perform physical exams.
• Review and interpret patient records and data to determine diagnostic and therapeutic plans.
• Establish presumptive diagnoses and order appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures.
• Administer injections, immunizations, and medications; suture wounds; and prepare prescription orders.
• Provide patient education and treatment instructions.
• Recommend community resources to meet patient and family needs.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and maintain required certifications.
• Utilize established practice and hospital guidelines in collaboration with supervising physician(s).
• Address patient concerns promptly and thoroughly, demonstrating ownership and a problem-solving mindset.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
