Job summary

Covenant Health Sevierville Urgent Care is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to provide primary care under physician supervision. You will follow established medical protocols, perform physical exams, obtain histories, order tests, and coordinate care within a team environment.

The role emphasizes patient-centered care, AIDET communication, and adherence to regulatory guidelines. The position is full time with variable shifts and a focus on community health in East Tennessee.

Qualifications

• Must be a licensed Nurse Practitioner per state requirements.
• CPR certification required.
• Must hold an approved NP specialty certification (FNP/AGNP/ENP/PMHNP, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, and adjusts plans to ensure optimal care.
• Collaborates with physician preceptor to formulate and review medical protocols.
• Maintains complete medical histories and accurate documentation in patient records.
• Follows Medicare CPT and ICD coding guidelines and maintains required reports.
• Provides health promotion counseling and develops patient teaching information.
• Participates in quality improvement initiatives and team-based care.
• Refers patients to appropriate services beyond the scope of practice of the practitioner.
