South Region - Urgent Care Medical Director (Southern Maryland)

MedStar Health Urgent Care is seeking a full-time Regional Medical Director (RMD) for the South Region, covering Southern Maryland locations such as Waldorf - Festival Way, Waldorf - Shoppers World, La Plata, Charlotte Hall, and California. The physician must be board-certified in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal/Pediatrics Medicine. The sites operate throughout Maryland, District of Columbia, and Northern Virginia. The role includes both urgent care clinical duties and administrative/leadership responsibilities.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Dedicate a percentage of full-time employment to the RMD role, overseeing administrative, managerial, and leadership duties.
  2. Serve as a key clinical leader in the region and primary contact for providers.
  3. Evaluate patient satisfaction and feedback, working with the patient experience team to address complaints involving providers.
  4. Assist in creating clinical schedules and serve as the point of contact for coverage issues.
  5. Conduct reviews for new employees and bi-annual provider reviews, perform site visits, and provide coaching as needed.
  6. Support administration and implementation of policies, procedures, and new initiatives.
  7. Help maintain performance indicators related to quality, safety, patient satisfaction, documentation, coding, financials, and provider engagement.
Director - MHUC Provider Mentor Program

Responsibilities include administrative, managerial, and leadership oversight, serving as the chief mentor program liaison, overseeing mentor recruitment, pairing mentors and mentees, maintaining logs, coaching, and ensuring program tasks are completed. Attend relevant meetings, lead quarterly mentor meetings, and oversee journal clubs and other program activities. Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned by the Chief Medical Director.
