Urgent Care Position Premium Pay

Job summary

Penn Medicine Lititz Urgent Care is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide clinical support under the supervision of a provider. You will prepare patients, administer injections, assist with procedures, perform Point of Care Testing, and coordinate care with the team.

This full-time position requires a high school diploma, 1+ year MA experience, and BCLS certification or plan to obtain CMA within 6 months. Some regional travel may be required; a sign-on bonus and premium pay are offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year Medical Assistant experience in a primary or specialty care physician’s office.
• Certification: Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant or complete a Medical Assistant training/education program and obtain CMA within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient for visit by using appropriate rooming standards tool.
• Administers injections, as prescribed by provider and per protocol.
• Prepares and administers medications as prescribed by the provider and in accordance with regulations.
• Assists with procedures, minor surgeries and exams.
• Performs Point of Care Testing (e.g., hearing, flu, urine, strep).
• Removes sutures and changes dressings.
• Provides clinical advice by phone/electronic correspondence per triage protocols.
• Authorizes prescription refills as directed by the provider.
• Assists in test tracking and monitoring overdue results.
• Keeps exam rooms stocked and clean; maintains instruments.
• Performs care coordination and referrals; participates in improvement initiatives.

Education
