Job summary

FastMed is hiring a Medical Assistant in Raleigh, NC to support providers with exams, procedures and patient care. Responsibilities include triaging patients, taking vitals, drawing blood, collecting specimens, administering medications and immunizations, setting up procedures, and preparing treatment rooms for examinations.

Ideal candidates have MA/EMT/Paramedic training or active certification (RMA/CMA), or at least 6 months in a related healthcare setting. BLS certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a Medical Assistant, EMT, Paramedic, or other relevant program, OR an active Registered Medical Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant designation, OR 6 months of experience in a relevant environment.
• Prior experience in a healthcare setting (emergency department, urgent care, or ambulatory clinic) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Triaging patients, measuring vitals, and recording information on patients' charts.
• Blood draws, venipuncture, specimen collection, and lab work completion.
• Administering medications and immunizations under provider direction.
• Setting up procedures as instructed by provider.
• Preparing treatment rooms and guiding patients from waiting room to exam rooms.
