Job summary

Carbon Health is seeking a Medical Assistant in West Lake Hills, TX. You will perform patient care, take vitals and patient history, triage, and support clinical procedures and testing.

The role requires 1+ year of Medical Assistant experience, Phlebotomy experience, and a current BLS certification. Willingness to obtain DOT certification is expected. Excellent communication is essential. Benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• BLS certification is required.
• Phlebotomy experience is required.
• Strong communication skills are essential.
• Willingness to obtain DOT certification if not already held.
• 1+ year experience as a Medical Assistant required.

Responsibilities

• Take vitals, obtain patient history, and triage.
• Assist with procedures (incision and drainage, lacerations, wound care).
• Administer medications via ID/IM/SQ routes and perform venipuncture; conduct ear lavages and complete EKGs.

Job description

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Perform patient care by taking vitals, patient history and triaging
• Assist with procedures such as incision and drainage, lacerations and wound care
• Administer medications via intradermal, intramuscular and subcutaneous routes, perform venipuncture, carry out ear lavages, and complete EKGs
• Conduct lab testing such as urinalysis, urine pregnancy test, blood glucose testing, monospot, rapid strep and influenza testing, rapid HIV testing
• Manage the front desk and perform receptionist duties as needed
• Complete training and become certified with the Department of Transportation to perform Urine Drug Screens and Breath Alcohol Tests

ABOUT YOU

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current BLS certification, willingness to obtain DOT certification
• 1+ years experience as a Medical Assistant required
• Phlebotomy experience required
• Great communication skills
