Job summary

UPMC-GoHealth Urgent Care in Pennsylvania is seeking a Medical Assistant to support examination and treatment under urgent care providers. You will handle registration, vital signs, specimen preparation, and front desk duties in a fast-paced setting.

You should have a High School Diploma, MA program completion preferred, and active BLS. Certifications such as CCMA/CMA/RMA/NCMA/NRCMA are required at hire, or an accredited nursing degree as alternative.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required
• Graduate of a Medical Assisting Program preferred
• BLS certification required at time of hire (ARC or AHA)
• One of CCMA, CMA, RMA, NCMA or NRCMA required at time of hire
• CPOE certification for order entry required within two weeks of start date
• In lieu of MA certification, RN/LPN or Accredited Nursing programs accepted

Responsibilities

• Register patients and verify insurance and eligibility.
• Process co-pays and schedule appointments.
• Coordinate referrals to specialists.
• Answer patient questions and update status.
• Prepare patients for examination and record medical history.
• Perform vital signs and basic point-of-care testing.
• Maintain exam rooms and stock supplies.
• Maintain medical records and scan charts.
• Handle phone calls and daily correspondence.
• Close opening/closing duties and cash管理
• Follow QA/QC logs and calibration procedures
• All other duties as assigned
