Job summary

UPMC | GoHealth Urgent Care is hiring a Medical Assistant to support urgent care centers across PA and WV. You will register patients, measure vitals, draw blood, and prepare exam rooms. You will assist providers, manage documentation, and ensure a smooth patient experience.

The role requires a high school diploma or MA certification, with BLS and CPOE knowledge preferred. Onsite positions include competitive pay, benefits, and PTO, with ongoing training and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and 1+ year MA experience.
• MA certifications may be obtained within 12 months of hire.
• Graduate of nursing program (RN/LPN/LVN) listed for hire options.
• CPOE certification within 2 weeks if MA certification not obtained at hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required at hire.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and verify insurance and eligibility.
• Take vital signs and prepare exam rooms for visits.
• Collect blood samples and prepare lab specimens.
• Assist providers during examinations and procedures.
• Process payments and schedule follow-ups; maintain clean, stocked areas.
• Document interactions in the electronic medical record.
