Job summary

Corewell Health Urgent Care is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to support patient care in a fast-paced clinic. You will prepare patients, conduct triage, document histories in the EMR, collect specimens, and assist with a range of clinical procedures.

The ideal candidate has MA training or CMA/RMA certification with 2+ years in urgent care/ER, and is flexible for 12-hour shifts, weekends, and holidays. Travel to other locations may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: Medical Assistant program (diploma/certificate) OR CMA/RMA OR 2+ years in urgent care/ER.
• Clinical Skills: Venipuncture, injections, and clinical procedures.
• Technical Skills: EMR experience; EPIC preferred.
• Flexibility: 12-hour shifts including weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations and treatments.
• Perform triage and take vital signs.
• Obtain and document patient history in EMR.
• Collect routine lab specimens (blood, urine, oral swabs).
• Administer medications and injections (IM, subcutaneous, intradermal).
• Suture and staple removal; assist with splinting.
• Perform basic clinical and laboratory procedures.
• Assist Occupational Medicine services (drug screening, testing).
• Ensure HIPAA/OSHA compliance.
• Handle administrative tasks and operate medical equipment.
• Oversee quality assurance and CLIA requirements.
• Travel to other Corewell Health Urgent Care locations as needed.
