Job summary

Corewell Health Urgent Care is seeking a Medical Assistant for a full-time role with 12-hour shifts (8 AM–8 PM) and no overnights. You will support patient care in a fast-paced setting, handle triage, vital signs, EMR documentation, and routine lab work. Roles include administering injections and assisting with occupational medicine services.

Ideal candidates have MA training, CMA/RMA, and 2+ years in urgent care or ER/hospital environments, with a collaborative, patient-first approach.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program (diploma or certificate) or CMA/RMA certification.
• Minimum 2 years of Medical Assistant experience in an urgent care/ER/hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations and treatments.
• Take triage and vital signs.
• Document patient history in EMR in a timely manner.
• Collect routine lab specimens (blood, urine, oral swabs).
• Administer medications and non-intravenous injections (IM, subcutaneous, intradermal).
• Perform splinting, sutures and staple removal, ear/eye washes, and setup procedures.
• Support Occupational Medicine services (drug screening, breath alcohol testing, audiograms, pulmonary function tests).
• Ensure HIPAA and OSHA compliance.
• Travel to Beaumont Urgent Care locations as required.
