Job summary

NextCare Urgent Care is seeking an energetic Medical Assistant to support fast-paced patient care in our Arizona clinics. You will assist providers with exams, take vital signs, perform blood draws, manage medication administration and support front office tasks as needed.

The role requires completion of an approved MA program or a non-approved program with CMA/RMA/CCMA certification, and proficiency in EMR/EHR systems. Join a patient-focused team where safety and quality care are priorities.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• Completed an APPROVED (accredited) Medical Assistant training program.
• OR Completed an UNAPPROVED (non-accredited) Medical Assistant training program AND a National Certification through one of CMA/RMA/CCMA.

Responsibilities

• Assists provider with exams, vitals, procedures and direct patient care under supervision.
• Administers medications per policy and safety protocols.
• Performs blood draws as directed by the provider.
• May collect urine for testing including employer drug screens.
• Performs splinting and casting; conducts sports physicals.
• Provides wound care and oxygen administration as required.
• Notifies provider of unusual patient events and safety concerns.
• Proficient in EMR/EHR and other clinic systems.
• Supports front office duties including patient flow and discharge processing.
