Qualifications

• Completion of an approved Medical Assistant Program required.
• Program must include externship/preceptorship in a clinical setting OR must have 6 months of current experience as a medical assistant.
• Currently enrolled in a nursing program with half of nursing courses completed required; transcripts provided.
• Must be BLS certified or willing to obtain within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians in daily activities—phone calls, exam room prep, test results, and filing patient information.
• Work at Urgent Care Clinic, evenings and weekends.
• Perform telephone triage and relay information to providers.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas per protocol.
• Handle prescription renewals/inquiries to support patient care.
• Prepare exam rooms, weigh patients, check vital signs, and obtain relevant information for care.
• Assist providers by retrieving tests and lab work as directed.
• Dispense medications as instructed and educate patients to ensure correct usage.
