Job summary

Penn State Health Carlisle Urgent Care is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinical and administrative duties, including specimen collection, basic lab work, and patient flow coordination. The role offers a dynamic, fast-paced environment with opportunities to train and mentor MA students as a preceptor.

Flexible four-day schedule with alternating weekends and a sign-on bonus of $3,000. Eligible full-time Penn State Health employees receive a tuition discount beginning January 1, 2027.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Must obtain CMA or RMA certification within 90 days of employment date; CMA or RMA active status acceptable.
• BLS certification required or to be obtained within 6 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with various health care services and specimen collection.
• Perform routine lab studies of specimens.
• Coordinate patient flow, scheduling, and phone messages; assist with administrative tasks.
• Serve as a preceptor for new medical assistant orientation and for MA students.
