Job summary

Ann Arbor Urgent Care is seeking a skilled Medical Assistant (MA) to join our fast-paced urgent care team. The MA will support providers with patient care, handle clinical and administrative duties, and help ensure a smooth patient experience.

Responsibilities include room preparation, patient intake, vital signs, procedures, medication administration, point-of-care testing, and specimen collection. Proficiency with EMR and strong communication are essential; bilingual candidates are a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• MA Certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent) preferred.

• Prepare exam rooms and assist with patient intake, including vital signs, medical history, and chief complaint.
• Assist providers with exams, procedures, wound care, and other treatments.
• Administer medications and injections as directed by providers.
• Perform point-of-care testing (e.g., flu, strep, COVID, urinalysis).
• Collect and process specimens for lab testing.
• Maintain cleanliness and infection control standards throughout the clinic.
• Document patient encounters accurately in the EMR.
• Assist with patient follow-up, test result calls, and documentation.
• Support front desk staff with clerical tasks as needed.
• Maintain inventory of medical supplies and ensure proper stocking of exam rooms.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Duties

• Prepare exam rooms and assist with patient intake, including vital signs, medical history, and chief complaint.
• Assist providers with exams, procedures, wound care, and other treatments.
• Administer medications and injections as directed by providers.
• Perform point-of-care testing (e.g., flu, strep, COVID, urinalysis).

Administrative Duties

• Ability to work on weekends, holidays, or extended hours if required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
