Job summary

Carbon Health in Murrieta, CA is seeking a Limited X-ray Technologist to join our imaging hub on a per diem basis. You will perform diagnostic X-ray exams within state-limited scope, assist the clinical team, and ensure safety protocols are followed in a fast-paced, walk-in care environment.

Responsibilities include maintaining equipment, ensuring image quality, and supporting front desk duties as needed. Relevant license and BLS/CPR are required, with prior urgent care or outpatient imaging

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current state limited-scope/limited-permit X-ray license required (scope varies by state).
• Current BLS/CPR certification.
• Experience in urgent care, ED, or outpatient imaging preferred.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, walk-in care environment.

• Perform diagnostic X-ray exams within licensed scope (e.g., chest, extremities) per provider order.
• Refer exams outside licensed scope to a Full X-ray Technologist or supervising provider.
• Follow ALARA radiation safety principles to protect patients and staff.
• Maintain and calibrate X-ray equipment; report malfunctions.
• Ensure images meet quality standards before interpretation.
• Maintain patient records and imaging documentation in the EHR.
• Support patient flow and assist clinical team during non-imaging periods.
• Adhere to safety, infection control, and licensing requirements.

About the role

• Carbon Health is looking for a Limited X-ray Technologist to join the clinical team at one of our imaging-equipped hub clinics. Working under a state limited-scope license, you'll perform permitted diagnostic X-ray exams (such as chest and extremities, per your state's scope) as part of same-day urgent care.

What you'll do

• Perform diagnostic X-ray exams within the scope permitted by your state limited license (e.g., chest, extremities), per provider order, positioning patients correctly for quality images
• Refer any exam outside your licensed scope to a Full X-ray Technologist or supervising provider
• Follow radiation safety protocols and ALARA principles to protect patients and staff
• Maintain and calibrate X-ray equipment; report malfunctions promptly
• Ensure images meet quality standards before submission for interpretation
• Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation in the EHR
• Support patient flow and assist the clinical team with other duties during non-imaging periods
• Follow all safety, infection control, and regulatory compliance protocols, including state/federal radiation licensing requirements
• Cover front desk duties as needed, including check-in, check-out, and phones
• Perform other duties as assigned by clinic leadership
• Be available to work at, or temporarily transfer to, another Carbon Health location within a reasonable distance, as business needs require

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Current state limited-scope/limited-permit X-ray license required (scope and exam vary by state — confirm requirements for the posting state)
• Current BLS/CPR certification
• Experience in urgent care, ED, or outpatient imaging preferred
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, walk-in care environment

Compensation and Benefits
