Job summary

OhioHealth is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP), including PA or APRN, to work in our Urgent Care Mansfield location. The role involves collaboration with physicians, performing X-ray reviews, and selective procedures such as suturing and incision and drainage. A high level of independent clinical decision-making is required.

Day shift, 40 scheduled hours per week. Must maintain state licensure and national certification, with SA/SCA alignment as applicable.

Qualifications

• Must hold an APRN or PA license for Ohio with current national certification.
• Collaboration with physician in urgent care setting and adherence to SA/SCA where applicable.
• X-ray imaging review and basic procedures (suturing, incision & drainage) may be performed.

Responsibilities

• Work under supervision with physicians in urgent care and perform services within the physician's normal scope.
• Maintain a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency in job duties as part of a High Reliability Organization.

Job Description Summary:

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP), Physician Assistant (PA) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) including Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) or Nurse Practitioner (NP), work in collaboration with the physician in the urgent care setting, caring for acute, chronically ill, or injured patients. Performs X-ray imaging review and minimally invasive procedures, including but not limited to suturing, incision and drainage, and joint reductions. Requires a high level of independent clinical decision-making.

Responsibilities And Duties:

Works under direction and in consultation/collaboration with physician and may perform services authorized by the supervising/collaborating physician that are part of the physician's normal course of practice and expertise. Promotes quality outcomes and initiatives. Must have a Supervision Agreement (SA) or Standard Care Arrangement (SCA) with a physician in like practice. Practices within applicable state laws, appropriate boards, and in accordance with his/her/their SA/SCA and delineation of privileges.

As a High Reliability Organization (HRO), responsibilities require focus on safety, quality and efficiency in performing job duties.

Additional Job Description:

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE

Must have a current APRN license to practice from the Ohio Board of Nursing and maintain this licensure from State Nursing Board of Ohio. Must have current Certification and maintain this Certification from a national certifying body (ANCC, AANP)

OR

Must have a current Physician Assistant License to practice in Ohio and maintain this from the State Medical Board of Ohio. Must have and maintain a current Certification from a national certifying body (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants) and maintain this Certification.
