Job summary

The Certified Medical Assistant - Urgent Care is a multi-skilled clinical professional that provides indirect and/or direct patient care within the scope of practice and in alignment with standards of excellence. Under the direction of the provider, the Medical Assistant contributes to the completion of the patient’s chief complaint, documents patient needs, and administers medications within scope.

Bon Secours seeks candidates with CMA certification and completion of an accredited MA program;

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• Post-secondary Medical Assistant program preferred (except South Carolina).
• In SC, alternatives include accredited MA programs or military training pathways.

Responsibilities

• Identify changes in patient condition and report to the provider.
• Troubleshoot issues and escalate to the provider or supervisor as needed.
• Maintain standards of excellence in care during all interactions.
• Keep clinical and administrative skills up to date per competency guidelines.
• Show patients to examination rooms and prepare them for the physician.
• Travel to other facilities or adjust hours to meet patient care needs.
