Job summary

EmergeOrtho is seeking an Advance Practice Provider (PA/NP) for our Morganton, NC office. This PRN role supports urgent care and orthopedic services with afternoon/evening and some Saturday shifts.

As an AP provider you will evaluate patients, order labs and imaging, perform procedures, document thoroughly in patient charts, and assist supervising physicians. Involvement in QI and meetings is expected, with flexible hours based on patient demand.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited PA or NP program
• Medical training from an approved program
• At least two years of experience as a Physician Assistant
• Good knowledge of medical office software such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, and medical practice software
• Familiarity with EMR programs
• Knowledge of medical terminology

Responsibilities

• Patient evaluation by performing history and physical exams
• Ordering laboratory, radiological and special studies
• Performing diagnostic procedures and administering vaccines
• Performing therapeutic procedures and assisting the surgeon in the OR
• Reading and interpreting imaging studies and lab reports
• Initiation of life-saving measures as needed
• Telephone contact with patients as appropriate
