Job description

Urgent Care Advanced Practitioner – PRN / Hourly NP or PA-c
  • Part-time
  • Shift: Day
  • Location: UM Urgent Care - Pasadena
  • Position Type: Non-Exempt

The University of Maryland Urgent Care is dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality, patient, family, and community-centered care. We strive to transform the way we deliver healthcare to bring convenience and value to every patient in the communities we serve.

This position covers the Anne Arundel County region of Maryland, including our centers in Pasadena and Glen Burnie. UM Urgent Care providers lead our facilities by delivering excellent care, creating signature patient experiences, and working closely with medical assistants and x-ray technologists. We care for patients aged one year and older, offering services such as treating upper respiratory infections, sprains, strains, sutures, employee health physicals, work-related injuries, and preoperative exams.

PRN providers are expected to be available at least 2-3 days per month, including two weekend days, and must designate one day per month as the 'emergency on-call' shift for all facilities.

Candidates must be licensed Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants in Maryland in good standing (pending licenses may be considered), with an NPI number, DEA, and CDS registration (or in the process of obtaining them). They should have completed a bachelor's degree relevant to their professional training. Experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, primary care, or intensive care is preferred. A proactive, growth-oriented mindset, passion for high-quality care, curiosity, and openness to feedback are essential.

We offer initial clinical training shifts to ensure providers develop necessary skills and electronic health records proficiency. Ongoing support is available through telephonic access to APP and physician leadership during all operating hours.
