Job summary

Bayview Physicians Group is seeking Advanced Practice Providers (NPs or PAs) to join NowCare Urgent Care in Southeast Virginia, including Virginia Beach. You’ll deliver outpatient, patient-centered care across multiple locations seven days a week, with a strong emphasis on acute care, diagnostics, and collaborative teamwork.

Qualifications

• Eligible to practice as NP or PA in Virginia.
• Comfort providing care to patients of all ages.
• Willingness to obtain DOT certification if not current.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive patient-centered care in a fast-paced outpatient setting.
• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute illnesses and injuries.
• Take patient histories and perform physical examinations.
• Order, interpret, and manage diagnostics including labs, EKGs, X-rays.
• Develop evidence-based treatment plans and prescribe medications.
• Perform urgent care procedures: laceration repair, incision and drainage, splinting, wound care, foreign body removal.
• Collaborate with physicians, APPs, nurses, radiologic techs, and staff.
• Obtain and maintain DOT Medical Examiner Certification (or be willing to obtain).
• Perform DOT physicals and complete required documentation.
• Deliver occupational health services: UDS, breath alcohol testing, chain of custody, return-to-work evaluations.

Bayview Physicians Group is a progressive, independent, multi-specialty, physician-led group serving the Hampton Roads region. We are currently seeking Advanced Practice Providers (NPs or PAs) to join our collaborative team of urgent care providers at our NowCare Urgent Cares.

NowCare operates seven convenient locations throughout Southeast, Virginia including the areas of Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Norfolk, and Suffolk,providing walk-in urgent care services seven days a week from 8:00am to 8:00pm.

Responsibilities:

As an Advanced Practice Provider at NowCare Urgent Care, you will provide comprehensive, longitudinal, patient-centered care in a fast-paced outpatient setting while collaborating with an experienced multidisciplinary team.

Evaluate, diagnose, and treat a broad range of acute illness and injuries for patients of all ages.

• You must be comfortable providing care to patients of all ages
• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat a broad range of acute illness and injuries for patients
• Perform comprehensive medical evaluations including patient histories and physical examinations
• Order, interpret, and manage diagnostic studies, including laboratory testing, EKGs, and X-rays
• Develop evidence-based treatment plans and prescribe medications in accordance with current clinical guidelines
• Perform common urgent care procedures:
  • Laceration repair (suturing/stapling)
  • Incision and drainage
  • Splinting and basic orthopedic care
  • Foreign body removal
  • Splinting and basic orthopedic care
  • Wound care and dressing changes
• Work collaboratively with physicians, other APPs, nurses, radiologic technologists, and support staff
• Obtain and maintain DOT Medical Examiner Certification (or be willing to obtain upon hire)
• Perform DOT physical examinations and complete all required documentation
• Perform occupational health services, including:
  • Urine drug screens (UDS)
  • Breath alcohol testing
  • Chain of custody specimen collection and documentation
  • Return to work and work-related injury evaluations
