Job summary

Naval Special Warfare Command is seeking a candidate to plan, coordinate, and implement range operations and safety procedures at San Clemente Island. The role emphasizes regulatory compliance, risk assessment and proactive coordination with range users to enhance training realism.

The position requires US citizenship and successful completion of pre-employment checks; incumbents may travel CONUS/OCONUS and reside on the island during the workweek.

Qualifications

• Specialized experience at GS-09 level or equivalent in planning, development, coordination or implementation of range operations and regulatory documentation.
• Experience with Laser Range Safety procedures and environmental requirements.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, coordinate and implement range plans and regulatory documents to ensure continuous control and support.
• Coordinate with range users to improve training realism, range management, scheduling and de-confliction.
• Develop and enforce comprehensive range complex instructions.
• Identify risk factors and conduct risk spot-checks for compliance with safety policies.
• Supervise personnel, equipment and resources to execute operations.
• Assess facility improvement needs for training facilities.
