VHB is seeking a Planning and Design Intern for Summer 2027, based in Washington, DC or Tysons, VA. You will assist with planning studies, site analysis, and master planning documentation while engaging with the public and producing maps and graphics.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in urban planning, urban design, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Conduct due diligence of planning studies, including code and comprehensive plan research
• Assist in site analysis, concept development, feasibility studies, and the preparation of master planning documentation including sustainability, transportation and resilience planning
• Participate in public engagement and outreach efforts
• Produce supporting graphics, maps, and imagery for project deliverables
• Conduct planning assessments using analytical tools such as GIS to evaluate data, identify trends, and develop documentation to summarize results and recommendations
