Job summary

The City of Huntington Beach seeks an Associate Planner, a journey-level position within the Planning Series. The incumbent handles full-range planning tasks, from research and reports to entitlements and policy implementation, in line with established city priorities and procedures.

Responsibilities include coordinating site and landscape plans, preparing environmental impact studies, and providing public assistance at the counter or by phone.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in planning or related field is required.
• Four (4) years of progressively responsible urban planning or related experience.
• Licenses: California Class C driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Participates in a variety of planning projects.
• Researches and recommends based on findings for general plan, projects or code amendments.
• Writes special project reports or portions of the general plan.
