Job summary

Urban Outfitters is seeking a Photo Studio Intern to support the daily operations of our studio photography and post-production teams, gaining hands-on experience in commercial/e-commerce photography from on-set production to final image delivery.

The program runs during the summer at our Philadelphia Home Office, with exposure to senior leadership, intern-focused events, and potential for a full-time position for qualifying candidates.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or recently completed degree in photography, visual arts, or related field.
• Familiarity with Canon EOS camera systems and studio lighting (Capture One Pro a plus).
• Retouching/Photoshop proficiency strongly preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced, collaborative studio environment.

Responsibilities

• On-set support: Assist with lighting and equipment setup and breakdown, manage product handling and organization, assist digital techs during image capture, keep sets clean and support with day-to-day shoot needs.
• Post-production support: Assist digital tech team with file preparation for DAM ingest, perform color correction and retouching tasks as directed, and help maintain product folders and archives.
• General: Attend production meetings and take notes on shot lists, communicate proactively with photographers, stylists, and post-production leads on shoot status, and help maintain studio supplies and equipment inventory.

Role Summary

Urban Outfitters is seeking a Photo Studio Intern to support the daily operations of our studio photography and post-production teams. This is a hands-on role for someone looking to build real-world experience in commercial/e-commerce photography, from on-set production through image delivery.

About the Summer Internship Program

Each summer, URBN Inc. welcomes candidates from across the country to immerse themselves within various teams across our portfolio of brands and gain hands-on learning experience in the area of business they choose to pursue. Our paid internship program also offers a summer full of internfocused events, including exposure to senior leadership through small-group settings, insight into company initiatives, off-site field trips, and, for those who qualify, the opportunity to interview for a full-time position. The URBN 2027 Summer Internship Program will run from 6/7 through 8/13 at our Home Office in Philadelphia, PA.

Role Responsibilities

Role Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in photography, visual arts, or related field.
• Familiarity with Canon EOS camera systems and studio lighting (Capture One Pro a plus).
• Passionate about fashion photography and the UO brand.
• Retouching/Photoshop proficiency strongly preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced, collaborative studio environment.
• Comfortable standing/moving for extended periods and lifting up to 25 lbs on set.

Project Requirement

In addition to your application and resume, to be considered for this role you must submit a Concept Board (8.5 X 11 PDF format is preferred). This is due at the time of your application submission.

• Create a concept board with 3 - 5 fashion trends you see emerging for the Urban Outfitters customer in Fall 2027.
• Pull imagery from blogs, Pinterest, Instagram, runway, etc. to show your point of view – merchandisers, make it into a story!
