Job summary

Freedom Preparatory Academy seeks high school teachers specializing in African American History for its growing network of charter schools in Memphis, TN. You will introduce and help students develop mastery of concepts as measured through year-long assessments.

Teachers collaborate to align curriculum across subjects and ensure they meet state standards. Requirements include a Bachelor's degree; Tennessee teaching license or eligibility; 2–4 years urban teaching and leadership experience

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.
• Tennessee teaching license with endorsements in the hired content area or eligibility via reciprocity.
• 2–4 years of urban teaching and educational leadership preferred.
• Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Embody the network's core values and maintain high expectations for academics and behavior.
• Foster positive classroom culture, analyze data to inform practices, and document records.
• Collaborate with Head/Assistant Head and Dean to support all students to reach success.
• Plan lessons, develop curriculum, and align across subjects with staff.
• Work extended school days for collaboration and parent communication.
