Job summary

St. Louis Development Corporation (SLDC) seeks a Community Projects Manager to drive GCC initiatives and support SLDC's economic justice plan. The role blends community engagement with project management to revitalize urban greenspaces and foster resilience.

The ideal candidate has strong communication, relationship-building, and multi-project coordination skills, with a passion for inclusive development and sustainability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required in a field related to Community Development, Public Administration, Urban and Regional Planning, Social Work, Project Management, Non-profit Management, Environmental Sciences, or similar.
• 2–5 years of experience in community engagement, project management, or a similar role.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and collaborate with partners, residents, and contractors.
• Strong communication and facilitation skills with experience engaging diverse stakeholders.
• Basic knowledge of environmental sustainability practices in urban contexts is preferred.
• Proficiency with spreadsheet/database management applications and other software used by City.
• Ability to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds and maintain effective working relationships.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement community engagement strategies to raise awareness and participation in GCC initiatives.
• Build and maintain relationships with residents, partner agencies, community organizations, and local businesses.
• Organize and facilitate community events, workshops, and volunteer opportunities.
• Support volunteer management activities and program administration.
• Manage resident-facing GCC programs and help transform vacant lots into community spaces.
• Gather community input to inform GCC project development and align with resident goals.
• Manage digital outreach including newsletters, social media, and other platforms.
• Coordinate with Director and Coalition partners to plan, execute, and evaluate GCC projects.
• Develop project deliverables, timelines, and budgets ensuring on-time, on-scope completion.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure project success.
