This part-time role involves hands-on work with sustainable agriculture, maintaining farm systems, documenting logs, and guiding a crew of lab assistants and volunteers in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 1 year related experience, or equivalent combination of training, education and experience.
• Ability to acquire a Michigan Chauffeur driver license certification.
• Ability to acquire a ServSafe certification.

Responsibilities

• Safely complete maintenance and troubleshooting tasks in urban farm systems, applying horticultural knowledge and problem-solving to address observed issues and assist with system assembly and repair.
• Accurately and consistently complete required documentation (harvest logs, labor logs, water quality and IPM tracking), analyze and report data to team when requested.
• Lead farm lab assistant crew and/or volunteer groups on daily tasks and time management: set the pace, ensure break coverage, and shift employees between tasks as needed.
• Follow established processes for farm production and help manager develop new processes as needed.
• Perform general farm maintenance and cleaning.
