Northwest School of the Arts in Cleveland, Ohio, part of ACCEL Schools, is hiring a 6th-8th Grade Science Teacher. The role requires an active Ohio teaching license, a Bachelor’s degree in education or related field, and a passion for project-based learning and social-emotional development.

The salary range is $40,000 to $49,500 with comprehensive benefits. The position is full-time and on-site, with opportunities for collaboration across ACCEL’s urban schools network.

Qualifications

• Active Ohio teaching license in appropriate content area.
• Bachelor's degree in education or related field.
• Comfortable in a growth-focused coaching environment with observations and progress monitoring.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to handle confidential information.
• Able to supervise students in different settings (playground, cafeteria, etc.).
• Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks.
• Experience working in an urban environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver lesson plans with ability to modify during the year.
• Differentiate instruction for diverse learners.
• Maintain records of students’ progress and development.
• Use research-based practices in daily planning and instruction.
• Manage student behavior in the classroom.
• Create a positive classroom environment for learning.
• Incorporate technology into daily classroom practice.
• Collaborate with colleagues and communicate with families.
• Participate in planning non-instructional activities; perform other duties.
