Job summary

Universal Health Services in Oklahoma City seeks a dedicated Utilization Review Coordinator to assess patient records, determine illness severity and appropriate care levels. The role acts as a bridge to insurance providers, advocating for necessary length of stay and reimbursement.

The UR Coordinator will align utilization review activities across departments, supporting compassionate psychiatric care in line with ANA standards and UHS policies.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of clinical experience with a psychiatric mental health population.
• Bachelor’s degree required (preferably in Social Work or related field).
• MSN or MSW preferred; licensure as Therapist or Social Worker preferred.

Responsibilities

The Utilization Review Coordinator evaluates patient medical records to determine severity of patient’s illness and the appropriateness of level of care. Serves as liaison for patients and facility with insurance companies. Negotiates and advocates for patient length of stay and level of care. Coordinates utilization review activities with other departments to ensure reimbursement for services provided by the facility. Promotes patient care consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Cedar Ridge. Performs duties in accordance with the ANA Standards of Practice for Psychiatric Mental Health Care, and facility mission, values, policies, and behavioral standards.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of clinical experience with a psychiatric mental health population

• Licensed Therapist or Social Worker (LPC/LCSW) preferred
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Successfully complete a drug test
• Successfully pass a national background check
