Job summary

NY Creates seeks a Facilities UPW/WWT Technician to perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and operation support for Ultra-Pure Water and Wastewater Treatment systems. The role includes testing, maintenance, and repair of equipment and helping implement start-up and maintenance procedures.

The position requires independent work, teamwork, strong communication, and safe operation in a technical environment. Shift options include Day 1 and Day 2 with overtime potential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus 5–7 years in skilled mechanical maintenance or equivalent engineering environment.
• Experience reading maintenance schedules, blueprints, diagrams, and keeping detailed records.
• Ability to lift and push/pull 50 lbs and work in varying weather conditions.
• Willingness to wear respirator and participate in hearing conservation program.
• Preferred: engineering associate's degree and UPW/WWT operations experience or 10 years related ops with training.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on UPW/WWT systems.
• Assist in developing start-up, shutdown, and maintenance procedures.
• Provide reliable service and customer support; work independently and in a team.
• Maintain accurate records and reports using MS Office and MM programs.
• Communicate effectively and follow safety protocols; may have occasional overtime.
