Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC seeks a Water Treatment Technician to operate UPW systems and manage wastewater processes in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will monitor RO/EDI systems, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure water quality through sampling and data logging.

You will collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to optimize water usage, reduce waste, and ensure OSHA/EPA safety standards are met while supporting startup/shutdown of production equipment.

Qualifications

High school degree or equivalency certificate.
2+ years of experience in a hands-on technical position or an associate’s degree in a STEM field.
Proficient computer skills including MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
3+ years of hands-on UPW production and/or industrial wastewater treatment experience preferred.
Experience with chemical manufacturing or oil/gas industries.
Strong knowledge of water chemistry, ion exchange, RO/EDI systems, and wastewater technologies.
Proficiency with water quality instrumentation and basic PLC troubleshooting.
Experience in a manufacturing environment or wet lab.
Ability to read P&ID and schematic wiring diagrams.
Experience with mechanical equipment and systems requiring disassembly and repair.
Experience with lock out tag out and hazardous materials handling.
Experience using MES/ERP software.
Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
Ability to manage priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
IPC-A-600/IPC-6012 certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

Operate and monitor UPW systems including RO, EDI, UV disinfection, and filtration.
Manage wastewater treatment processes including pH neutralization and crystallizers.
Perform routine preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on pumps, valves, sensors, and control systems.
Conduct daily water quality sampling and data logging with analytical tools.
Respond to alarms and implement corrective actions to maximize system availability.
Collaborate with manufacturing, EHS, and engineering teams to optimize water usage and reduce waste.
Ensure safety protocols including LOTO and hazardous chemical handling are followed.
Execute startup/shutdown procedures for production equipment.
Create and follow operating procedures with engineers and technicians.
Maintain a mature hardware inventory including spare parts procurement.
Identify continuous improvement opportunities for uptime and quality.
Ensure reading and understanding of technical documents and 5S standards.
