Job summary

Uptown Cheapskate State College is seeking a hands-on Assistant Manager to join our team. You’ll help lead daily store operations, train associates, and promote a vibrant, customer-focused shopping environment in State College, PA.

We value leadership, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to growth from within our network of nearly 30 locations. Expect cross-training across store duties and opportunities to advance with SRG-backed leadership.

Responsibilities

• Be helpful and nice to our customers - our store vibe is everything
• Presort incoming clothes, shoes, and accessories brought in from vendors
• Use our computer system to buy in and price incoming items
• Organize racks, tag and hang up clothing
• Ring out customers on the register and teach them how to sell to us
• Help make posts on our social media pages
• Merchandise! Organize clothing, handbags, and shoes, make the store look pretty!
• Opening and closing tasks (closing down systems, nightly reports, opening/closing tills)
• Inventory management - transporting back stock bins to and from storage unit using a company box truck
• Assist Store Manager in leading the team

We’re looking for a full-time Assistant Manager to join our team. Leadership experience is appreciated, but not required. Our store is part of a network of Uptown locations, and we love to promote and grow from within.
